It’s 5am and I’m set up with my camera on a tripod at the Galleria to shoot it lit up. Surprisingly, there’s quite a few people out. Not sure if they’re the dregs left over from the evening along with the homeless youth. I take a few quick snaps and then head to the Duomo for the same set up.
I then make the trek to a different neighbourhood but upon arriving realize it was a bit of a wasted walk as I’m not seeing much to photograph other than overflowing garbage bins. I make my way to the rotunda and again, not inspired. Not much of a creative morning but I was awake anyway and I got some exercise.
Back at the apartment, I ready my belongings for my flight to Toronto in the morning. Can’t believe the Italy leg of my vacation is coming to an end. I’ve done so much that it feels like I’ve been gone a long time, but the time has also flown by.
Looking back, my favourite place hands down, was Verona. I loved everything about it. Small town vibe, lots of culture, friendly people, beautiful architecture and great food. Rome was also one of my favourites despite it being a big city. Florence was high on the list for it’s inspiring architecture, beautiful bridges and history. Least favourite was Milan and Bologna. Not sure why I didn’t love them but I found them both dirtier than the other places and the homeless population larger. Some of the architecture was amazing but I just didn’t love them as much as everywhere else.
And now, back to Canada. Thanks for the memories Italy! Ciao!
Amazing trip!! Interesting about Milan and Bologna but honestly I can’t imagine a town named after ground meat to be anything spectacular 😉
Haha good point!
Wow!! Amazing….just got all caught up! I laughed, I cried (😬) and marveled at your adventures. So much walking, so little sleep… happy for you to have had such an unforgettable trip – your grandpa was definitely watching and loving every minute.
Thank you! Loved having everyone along with me
