So, I just arrived in this amazing medieval city, and it’s absolutely breathtaking! The Old Town is surrounded by ramparts and walls, with the Adriatic Sea on one side, and mountains on the other. The buildings are all made of white marble, and the roofs are orange tiles, it’s so vibrant.
The streets are lined with narrow alleyways, and the stairs are so steep that you struggle to walk up them. In the early morning, truck drivers are offloading their stuff to small trolleys to make the deliveries, and there’s a little motorized street sweeper that slowly makes its rounds, cleaning up the mess from the night before.
I spend the morning walking the City Walls before the intense heat hits. Again, more stairs but worth it for the picturesque views of the town and sea.
I opt for a lazy afternoon at Banje Beach to deal with my jet lag and proceed to roast myself for 6 hours. I have to get the most out of the highway robbery €35 that I shelled out for the beach lounger and umbrella!
Late dinner after getting distracted looking for a sunset photo spot. Can someone please remind me NOT to order a pasta dish with tomato sauce when wearing a white blouse?!!
