Stari Grad -Best Town on The Dalmatian Coast

It’s official.  Stari Grad is my favourite town we’ve visited on this trip.  A quiet, sleepy town with gorgeous architecture.  I wish we had more time here.  I would love to sit at a waterside cafe and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and stunning view.

Time to leave and we get ready for our last swim stop of the trip.  Our guide, Ziggy has assured us that it’ll be a long one in a calm bay so I get the paddle board prepared so I can hop in the water as soon as we arrive.  I find out after I’ve been on the water for an hour that there’s jelly fish and Ann and Tom have already been stung.  Ouch!  I decide I’m going to keep my body above the water and blow-up flamingo takes me for one last float.

We continue on to Split, our last stop before the end of the trip.  It’s extremely hot and FULL of tourists.  It’s bigger and busier than Dubrovnik and smells of sulphur.  We have a walking tour of Diocletian’s Palace and it’s so busy that I can’t take it in.  I feel desperate to escape the squash of people and am relieved when we make our way up Marjan Hill for a view of the city.  Afterwards, a few of us go for pizza and then I head straight to bed.
